Medical Description

Toxiphage capsule is used to support healthy gut bacteria during diarrhoea, irritable bowel symptoms and other digestive problems linked with an imbalance of intestinal microorganisms. It contains a combination of Streptococcus thermophilus, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium longum and Bacillus coagulans, together with fructo oligosaccharides, a prebiotic fibre. The live bacterial cultures support the balance of helpful microorganisms, while the fibre provides food for them. The capsule is swallowed whole with water, preferably with food, as advised by a doctor.

  • Gut bacteria imbalance: The live cultures and prebiotic fibre support recovery of helpful intestinal microorganisms after illness, stress, dietary changes or medicine use.
  • Inflammatory bowel disease support: It may be used alongside standard treatment in selected people to support digestive comfort, not replace prescribed care.

How does this medicine work?

The Streptococcus thermophilus, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium longum and Bacillus coagulans components are beneficial bacteria that support the normal balance of microorganisms in the intestine. Fructo oligosaccharides are prebiotic fibre that provides food for helpful bacteria and supports their growth. Together, these ingredients may support digestion, bowel function and digestive comfort.

Interactions

Interactions with other medicines

Some medicines can affect the way Toxiphage capsule works. Tell your doctor about all the medicines, vitamins and supplements you take. In particular, antibiotics may reduce the benefit of live bacteria, so separate them as advised. Medicines that suppress the immune system, including corticosteroids or chemotherapy, may increase infection risk with live bacterial products.

Interactions with food items

Avoid taking Toxiphage capsule with very hot food or drinks because heat may damage the live bacterial strains.
