Medical Description

Toncyp syrup is a prescription medicine used to relieve allergic conditions and, when prescribed, to stimulate appetite. It contains a combination of cyproheptadine, L-lysine and zinc. Cyproheptadine blocks histamine, a chemical messenger involved in allergy symptoms, and may increase hunger, while L-lysine supports protein formation and zinc supports normal growth and immune function. Toncyp syrup is taken by mouth after shaking the bottle, with or without food, using the measuring cup provided and only as directed by a doctor.

Uses

  • Allergic conditions: Cyproheptadine can ease itching, sneezing, a runny nose, watery eyes and some allergic skin symptoms.
  • Loss of appetite: Cyproheptadine may stimulate hunger when a doctor prescribes it for reduced appetite or inadequate food intake.

Side effects
