How does this medicine work?

Dextromethorphan blocks signals in the brain that trigger the cough reflex, providing rapid relief from dry cough. Chlorpheniramine is an antihistamine that reduces the effects of histamine, which causes allergy symptoms like sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes. Together, they address multiple cold symptoms with a single syrup.
