Missed a Dose

Contact your transplant team promptly if you miss a dose. If you missed any dose of medicine, take it as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dose schedule. Do not take a double dose of medicine to compensate for the missed one.

How does this medicine work?

Tacrolimus reduces immune system activity, making it less likely that the body will attack a transplanted organ.

Interactions

Interactions with other medicines

Some medicines can affect the way tacrolimus works or increase the risk of kidney problems. Tell your doctor about all medicines, supplements, and herbal products you use. In particular, tell them if you are taking clarithromycin, azole antifungals, rifampicin, anti-inflammatory pain medicines, potassium-increasing medicines, or medicines that affect blood pressure.
