Medical Description

Stalopam mini plus belongs to a group of medicines known as Anxiolytics. It is a combination of two active ingredients, Clonazepam and Escitalopram. It is used for the treatment of Anxiety or Social Anxiety Disorder. Social anxiety disorder presents itself as having profound and strong feelings of worry, fear and indecisiveness in daily activities of life. Clonazepam acts by regulating certain chemicals in the brain to reduce brain hyperactivity. Escitalopram acts by regulating serotonin (happy hormone) levels in the body, elevating mood, improving behaviour and energy levels. Stalopam mini plus comes as an oral tablet to be taken with water, with or without food. The patient needs to take the doses every day at around the same time. Stalopam mini plus is not prescribed for patients under the age of 18 years. Some of the common side effects of the medicine include confusion, vomiting, nausea, diarrhoea, dizziness and lethargy. Inform your doctor if these bother you a lot or do not go away with time.

How Does It Work?

Stalopam mini plus consists of 2 main active ingredients Clonazepam and Escitalopram. Clonazepam decreases the chemical known as GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) at the nerve endings of the brain, which causes a reduction in the activity of brain cells. This helps to have a calming effect on the brain. Escitalopram regulates serotonin levels in the brain, causing its gradual buildup. It elevates mood and helps enhance social behaviour.
