Sompraz 40 MG Description
Sompraz 40 tablet contains esomeprazole, used to treat acid reflux, ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome by reducing stomach acid production. Some common side effects of Sompraz 40 are headache, diarrhoea, nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, flatulence, and dizziness. if side effects bother you, inform your doctor.
Zollinger-Ellison syndrome is characterised by excessive stomach acid production due to tumours in the pancreas. Some other medicines that contain the same composition are Esogress 40mg tablet, Raciper 40mg tablet, Esmetru 40mg tablet, Neksium 40mg tablet, and Nexpro 40mg tablet.
You should also keep an eye out for foods and beverages that appear to cause acidity-related problems. Try to eat smaller and more frequent meals, eat less oily and spicy foods, avoid alcohol, and drink plenty of water. Contact your doctor or a nutritionist for more personalised dietary changes.

Uses of Sompraz 40 MG
- For the treatment of ulcers in the stomach and intestine.
- Provide relief from heartburn, pain and chest pain due to acid reflux disease such as GERD (Gastroesophageal reflux disease).
- Treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, a condition of increased acid production in the stomach due to the tumour.
- Treatment of ulcers due to excessive use of painkillers and certain antibiotics.
- To eradicate the infection of a bacteria, H. Pylori, which, if left untreated, can cause ulcers.
Contraindications of Sompraz 40 MG
- If you are allergic to esomeprazole or any other ingredients of Sompraz 40 tablet.
- If you are taking anti-HIV medicine Nelfinavir.

- You are allergic to the active ingredient esomeprazole or any other medicine.
- You have unexplained weight loss, frequent vomiting, difficulty in swallowing and blood vomiting.
- You are undergoing long-term treatment with this medicine.
- You are undergoing treatment for a bacterial infection caused by H. pylori and are using an antibiotic called Clarithromycin.
- You develop stomach infections after using Sompraz 40 tablets.
- You have a vitamin B12 deficiency. The use of Sompraz can result in very low levels of Vitamin B12 during prolonged therapy.
- You have a magnesium deficiency. This can result in very low magnesium levels, which are characterized by weakness, fits, and irregular heartbeats.
- You are an elderly patient on long-term therapy. It increases the risk of fracture of the hip, wrist and spine bones.
- You have a skin disorder, subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus, which is characterised by a rash on areas of the skin exposed to the Sun.
- You are using anti-HIV medicines like Atazanavir or Nelfinavir.

- Take Sompraz 40 tablet on an empty stomach as a whole with a glass of water.
- It is recommended to take this medicine a minimum of 30 minutes before mealtime.
