Foracort respules 0.5 mg is a solution for inhalation. It is used to relieve symptoms of lung and airway diseases like asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Foracort respules 0.5 mg contains formoterol and budesonide as active ingredients. You should use this medicine exactly as advised by your doctor. Do not change your dose or use Foracort respules without talking to your doctor. Inform your doctor about your medical history and if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or are breastfeeding before starting this medicine.

Other General Warnings
- You have any heart-related disease like high blood pressure or irregular heartbeats.
- You have a history of thyroid problems, fits/seizures, diabetes, liver problem,s or weak bones.
- You have eye disorders like increased eye pressure or cataract.
- You have tuberculosis, fungal, or viral infections.
- You experience a fungal infection of the mouth (oral candidiasis) after using this respule. To avoid it, you should rinse your mouth and gargle after inhalation of Foracort respules.
- You experience facial skin irritation upon using a nebulizer with a face mask. To prevent such irritation, the face should be washed after using the face mask.
Directions for Use
- Use Foracort respules 0.5 mg exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
- Do not change your dose or how often you use Foracort respules 0.5 mg without talking to your doctor.
- Open the foil pouch just before administration and use the contents of the vial immediately.
- Foracort respules should only be used with a standard jet nebulizer connected to an air compressor with proper airflow and with a face mask or mouthpiece.
- The doctor will tell you all the details and instruct you on the correct use.
Storage and disposal
- Store Foracort respules 0.5 mg under refrigeration at 2°–8°C. Do not freeze. Protect from light.
- Once opened, the foil pouch containing the respules can be stored at room temperature below 25°C for up to 4 weeks.
- If kept at room temperature for more than 4 weeks, do not use the respules and discard them.
- Keep out of the reach of children and pets.

How Does It Work?
- Foracort respules 0.5 mg contains two active ingredients: formoterol and budesonide.
- Formoterol acts by opening and relaxing the air passage in the lungs and making breathing easier.
- Budesonide is a steroid that produces anti-inflammatory action within the lungs. It reduces swelling and irritation and hence relieves breathing difficulty.
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines can affect the way Foracort respules 0.5 mg works, or Foracort respules 0.5 mg itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Inform your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
- Particular care should be taken if you take are taking medicines fr treating fungal infections, mood disorders, and fluid accumulation.
- Medicines such as cardiac glycosides used for treating heart failure and irregular/abnormal heartbeats should be used with caution with this medicine.
- Tell your doctor if you are on beta-adrenergic blockers used to lower blood pressure and for certain eye conditions. If you are not sure which are these medicines, ask your doctor.
