Uses
- Sizodon 1 mg tablet is helpful in psychotic disorders such as bipolar disorder, manic depression, schizophrenia, and schizoaffective disorder.
- It is also useful in treating irritability in children affected with autism.
- It may be helpful to relieve mild anxiety too.
Contraindications
Side effects
- Drowsiness
- Light-headedness
- Nausea/vomiting sensation
- Rhinitis (irritated lining of the nose leading to symptoms such as sneezing and runny nose)
- Weight gain
- Abnormal vision
- These symptoms usually go away in a few days’ time. However, if these unwanted side effects persist for long or if you feel anything unusual, talk to your doctor.

- You are suffering from other health conditions, are taking other medicines, have allergies, or have hereditary diseases running in your family.
- You have unusual bleeding from the mouth/nose/vagina/anus.
- You have red or purple spots under the skin.
- You have priapism (prolonged and painful erection of the penis) without sexual stimulation.
- You have erectile dysfunction (failure to erect the penis).
- You get high fevers.
- You experience excessive sweating.
- You have tremors.
- You have an irregular heartbeat.
- You get seizures.
- You feel faintish.
- You have low blood pressure.
- You have uncontrolled movements in your facial muscles, such as lip-smacking, tongue movement, and frowning.
- You have swollen or tender breasts; this can happen to both men and women.
- You have irregular periods.
- You have missed periods.
- You get nipple discharge.
- You have symptoms of high sugar levels, such as increased hunger, increased thirst, increased urination, and nausea.
Directions for Use
- Take Sizodon 1 mg tablets as suggested by the doctor.
- Take the medicine at the same time daily.
- Take it with a full glass of water.
- Do not take it with other medicines unless suggested by the doctor.
- Take Sizodon 1 mg tablet with food or without food.

- Reach out to your doctor or emergency care immediately if you suspect an overdose. Overdose of Sizodon 1 mg tablet could lead to the following symptoms:
- Increased heart rate
- Restless movements of the face muscles
- Dizziness
- Confusion
- Severe drowsiness

How Does It Work?
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Sizodon 1 mg tablet could antagonise/neutralise the actions of medicines such as levodopa and dopamine agonists.
- It might increase the serum levels of medicines such as clozapine and carbamazepine.
- Medicines such as carbamazepine might reduce the serum levels/blood concentration of Sizodon 1 mg tablet.
- Medicines such as clozapine reduce the clearance of Sizodon 1 mg tablet from the body.
- When taken along with medicines such as ritonavir and indinavir, there is an increased risk of conditions such as neuroleptic malignant syndrome.
- Sizodon 1 mg tablet should be taken with great caution if on high blood pressure medicines. This combination can cause death due to low blood pressure.
- Always follow the doctor’s instructions. Never self-medicate
