How Does It Work?
Salmeterol is a selective long-acting beta-adrenoceptor agonist that produces a longer duration of bronchodilation, which works by relaxing muscles of the airways. In addition, fluticasone has a glucocorticoid anti-inflammatory action that relieves the symptoms of COPD, making breathing easier....

- Used as directed by the physician for the prescribed duration and dose

Interactions with other medicines
- Concomitant use of non-selective or selective beta-blockers may weaken or antagonize the effect of salmeterol
- Simultaneous treatment of steroids, diuretics and xanthine derivatives may potentiate the acute severe asthma
- Highly potent cytochrome CYP34A inhibitors like ritonavir increased the plasma concentrations of fluticasone
- Co-administration of ketoconazole and salmeterol increases the plasma salmeterol exposure
- Co-administration of erythromycin and salmeterol significantly increases the exposure of salmeterol

Overdose
- In case of overdose, symptoms like dizziness, increased blood pressure, tremors, tachycardia and headache are seen. Call your doctor or rush to the nearest hospital if you notice these symptoms.
Missed a Dose
If you have missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember it. However, skip the dose and follow your regular routine if your next dose is approaching. Do not take twice the dose.
