Medical Description

Septran tablet is an antibiotic medicine. It is used to treat various infections caused by certain bacteria. It is widely used to treat bacterial infections in the lungs, urinary bladder, ear or skin. It contains a combination of sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim as active ingredients. This medicine acts by preventing the growth of bacteria to treat the infection. Take this medicine as advised by your doctor for the prescribed duration. You can take the Septran tablet with or after food. Always complete the entire course of treatment with antibiotics, as incomplete treatment may result in treatment failure and increased risk of re-infection.   • If you are allergic to sulfamethoxazole, trimethoprim or any of the ingredients present in Septran tablet.
  • If you have severe liver or kidney disorders.
  • If you ever had a decrease platelet count due to this medicine.
  • If you have any blood-related disorder such as polyphia.
  • This medicine should not be used in a child below 6 weeks of life.
