Senex 5 MG Description
Senex Tablet is a prescription medication that is used to treat moderate to severe dementia of the Alzheimer’s type. Alzheimer's disease is a neurological disease that causes memory loss (dementia) a
nd slowly destroys the ability to learn, communicate, and handle daily activities. Senex Tablet contains Memantine as an active ingredient. Memantine blocks the action of a natural chemical substance (glutamate) in the brain that is believed to be linked to memory-related symptoms of Alzheimer's disease and hence helps improve Alzheimer’s condition. Senex Tablet dosage should be taken as per the doctor’s prescription. There are also some side effects associated with this medicine, so dosage must be carefully monitored. Do not stop taking Senex Tablet suddenly without consulting your doctor, as it can cause clinical worsening of your condition or symptoms might return.

Contraindications of Senex 5 MG
- If you are allergic to any of the components of Senex Tablet, i.e., Memantine.
- If you have a heart condition like heart failure, angina etc.
- If you have a history of epilepsy.
- If you have urinary problems.
- If you have severe liver or kidney impairment.
- If you are pregnant and a lactating mother.

How Does It Work?
Directions for Use of Senex 5 MG
- Take the Senex Tablet as prescribed by the physician.
- Senex Tablet can be taken with or without food or as prescribed by the doctor.
- Take Senex Tablet on a regular schedule, preferably at the same time every day.
- Take the whole tablet orally with a glass of water. Do not break or chew the tablet.
- Do not take Senex Tablet with other medications without consulting your doctor.
- Don’t exceed the dosage of Senex Tablet on your own, even if you cannot feel its effects.
Interactions of Senex 5 MG
Interactions with other medicines
- Use of Senex Tablet with other NMDA antagonists like amantadine, ketamine, and dextromethorphan, should be avoided as it may lead to increased side effects.
- Administration of Senex Tablet with the antispasmodic agents (dantrolene or baclofen) can modify their effects.
- Senex Tablet interaction with medicine like cimetidine, ranitidine, procainamide, quinidine, quinine and nicotine can lead to increased plasma levels of Memantine.
- Co-administering Senex Tablet with hydrochlorothiazide (HCT) may lead to reduced serum level of hydrochlorothiazide (HCT).
