Description

Sedeven Injection is an anaesthetic medication used for maintaining unconsciousness or sleep during surgical procedures. It can be used to sedate patients in intensive care units (ICUs) and administe

r anaesthesia before surgery. It causes drowsiness, relieves anxiety, and prevents any memory of the surgical event. The active ingredient in Sedeven Injection is Midazolam. This ingredient causes loss of consciousness for a short period, which helps to carry out surgical procedures or diagnostic procedures without pain or discomfort. Midazolam belongs to the benzodiazepines class of medications. The mode of action of Sedeven Injection is by enhancing the inhibitory action of the GABA-A receptor, an inhibitory channel that decreases excess neuronal activity in the brain. This effect leads to central nervous system (CNS) depression and induces anaesthetic effects. Sedeven Injection should be administered in a clinical or hospital setting by doctors or trained healthcare professionals. The use of Sedeven Injection is reserved only for health care personnel trained in anesthesiology. Side effects of Sedeven Injection include sleepiness, dizziness, sneezing, hiccups, shallow breathing, and pain at the Injection site.

Uses of Sedeven Injection 10ml

As per CDSCO, Sedeven Injection is used for the treatment of:
Preoperative sedation
Induction of general anaesthesia

Contraindications of Sedeven Injection 10ml

Do not take Sedeven Injection or use caution:
If you are allergic to Midazolam
If you have narrow-angle glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye)
If you have low blood pressure or shock-like condition
If you are an older adult over 60 years of age
If you are pregnant
If you are breastfeeding
If you have severe kidney or liver disease
If you have a history of drug abuse

Side effects of Sedeven Injection include:
Sleepiness
Dizziness
Sneezing
Hiccups
Shallow breathing
Pain at the Injection site

Precautions and Warnings of Sedeven Injection 10ml

Pregnancy

Can I take a Sedeven Injection during pregnancy?

No. Sedeven Injection is not recommended during pregnancy as some research data has reported congenital abnormalities in babies whose mothers took benzodiazepines, including midazolam, in the first trimester. As a precaution, Sedeven Injection should not be given to pregnant women unless necessary or in a life-threatening condition. If you are expecting to become pregnant or are pregnant, talk to your doctor before taking the Injection.

Breast Feeding

Can I take a Sedeven Injection while breastfeeding?

Sedeven Injection is not recommended if you are a nursing mother. Some data suggest that this medicine may excrete into breast milk and consequently harm the baby. Consult your doctor before taking the Injection.

Driving

Can I drive if I have been given a Sedeven Injection?

Administration of a Sedeven Injection decreases alertness, affects your vision, and makes you dizzy and lightheaded. If you experience these side effects after taking the Injection, avoid driving.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with Sedeven Injection?

Avoid alcohol consumption for at least 24 hours after being given a Sedeven Injection. Alcohol may increase the chances of severe side effects, including concentration difficulties, poor thinking, dizziness, increased sleepiness, etc.
