Scabigard Lotion is an anti-scabies medicine. Scabies is a skin condition that is caused by a mite. Scabigard Lotion contains a combination of cetrimide and gamma benzene hexachloride as active subs

tances. It is used for the treatment of scabies only in patients who cannot tolerate other medicines or who have failed treatment with other approved medicines. Do not use this medicine to treat any other skin conditions other than that prescribed by your doctor. Scabigard Lotion is meant for external application only. Do not use more of the medicine or apply it more often than recommended. Particular care should be taken when using Scabigard Lotion in infants, children, the elderly, individuals with other skin conditions like atopic dermatitis or psoriasis or those individuals who weigh less than 50 kg.

Uses of Scabigard Lotion 100ml

Scabigard Lotion is used for the treatment of scabies (infestations of a mite called Sarcoptes scabiei).

Contraindications of Scabigard Lotion 100ml

If you are allergic to cetrimide, gamma benzene hexachloride or any of the other ingredients of Scabigard Lotion.
In body cavities like the mouth or ear or as an enema (a treatment to clean the bowel).
If you are using Scabigard Lotion near the eyes and middle ear and surrounding areas.
If you are using this medicine in premature infants.
If you have crusted (Norwegian) scabies and other skin conditions (atopic dermatitis, psoriasis).
If you have a known uncontrolled seizure/fits disorder.

Mode of Action of Scabigard Lotion 100ml

How Does It Work?

Scabigard Lotion contains cetrimide and gamma benzene hexachloride as active substances.
Cetrimide is an antiseptic medicine that kills or stops the growth of microorganisms that cause scabies.
Gamma benzene hexachloride is an anti-parasitic medicine that gets directly absorbed into the parasites and their ova (mature female reproductive cell) and kills the scabies-causing parasite.

Use Scabigard Lotion as directed by your doctor.
This medicine is for external use only.
Apply it on a healthy skin surface free from cuts and wounds.
Wash your hands before and after using this medicine unless your hands are the area to be treated.
