Uses
- Sarotena 25 mg Tablet is used in,
- Treatment of major depressive disorder in adults.
- Treatment of neuropathic pain in adults.
- Prophylactic treatment of chronic tension-type headache (CTTH) in adults.
- Prophylactic treatment of migraine in adults.
Contraindications
- If you have an amitriptyline hypersensitivity or an allergy to any other ingredients present in Sarotena 25 mg Tablet.
- If you are currently using Monoamine oxidase Inhibitors (MAOI) or have used them within the last 14 days.
- If you have recently had a myocardial infarction(heart attack).

Directions for Use
- Always take the Sarotena 25 mg Tablet exactly as directed by your doctor.
- You can take Sarotena Tablet with or without food.
- Swallow Sarotena Tablet with a glass of water. Do not chew or crush it.
- Read the label instructions carefully.
- Dosage should be taken in recommended amounts at a particular time in a day to get maximum benefits and desired clinical effect.

Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- To avoid undesirable side effects associated with drug interaction, inform your doctor about all medicines and supplements you are currently taking.
- Sarotena 25 mg Tablet can cause adverse reactions when taken with the following medicines:
- Interaction with Monoamine oxidase inhibitors like moclobemide and selegiline can increase the risk of serotonin syndrome.
- Interaction with antihypertensives like guanethidine, betanidine, reserpine, clonidine, and methyldopa can counteract the effect of these medicines.
- Interaction with tramadol can increase the risk for seizures and serotonin syndrome.
- Interaction with antipsychotics like pimozide and sertindole may increase the risk of ventricular arrhythmias
Interactions with food items
- Unless your physician suggests, there is no need to avoid any particular type of food or drink when taking Sarotena 25 mg Tablet.
