Rosukem A Capsule is a combination medication used to prevent or reduce the risk of heart attacks or strokes, and it also helps to lower blood cholesterol levels. Its main components are acetylsalicylic acid and rosuvastatin. Rosukem A should be taken as directed by your doctor. Do not miss any doses or discontinue this medicine without consulting your doctor. Contraindications

  • If you have any allergic reactions to Acetylsalicylic Acid, Rosuvastatin, or any of the components of Rosukem A Capsule.
  • If you have kidney or liver issues.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you experience any muscle pain.
  • If you are suffering from any bleeding disorders or blood clotting issues.
  • If you have thyroid conditions or gout.
  • If you consume alcohol regularly.
  • If you have a history of ulcers in the stomach or small intestine.
  • If you are taking cyclosporine (used in rheumatoid arthritis or after organ transplants) or methotrexate (used in cancer treatment).
  • If you’ve had an asthmatic attack or any severe allergic reactions like itching, swelling, or difficulty breathing or swallowing, etc.
  • Rosukem A Capsule is not recommended for use in children with viral infections due to the risk of Reye’s syndrome.

  • You are on or have taken a medicine- fusidic acid to treat your bacterial infections in the last 7 days.
  • Rosukem A Capsule should not be used in children below the age of 16 years unless there are more benefits than risk.

Directions for Use

Take Rosukem A Capsule as directed by your doctor. Swallow it whole with a glass of water. Do not cut, open or chew the capsule. It would be best if you took it at a fixed time for optimal results. Do not consume it more than that prescribed by your doctor.

  • Store Rosukem A Capsules in a cool and dry place, protect it from direct sunlight, moisture and heat.
  • Keep it away from children and pets.
  • Do not use expired or damaged medicines.
  • Discard unused medicine properly. Do not flush it in the toilet or throw it into the drain.

  • Overdose of Rosukem A Capsule may cause symptoms like ringing in the ears, dizziness, headache, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, sweating, fever.
  • Seek urgent medical help if you experience any such symptoms or feel you have taken too much of Rosukem A Capsule.

Missed a Dose

In case you’ve missed any dose of Rosukem A Capsule, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. Avoid taking a double dose to compensate for the missed dose.

How Does It Work?

  • Rosukem A Capsule works by the combined action of Acetylsalicylic Acid and Rosuvastatin.
  • Acetylsalicylic Acid works by stopping the platelets from forming a clot so that the blood can flow easily and without any obstruction.
  • Rosuvastatin works by inhibiting or blocking an enzyme which is needed in the body to make cholesterol, reducing the bad cholesterol and increasing the good cholesterol in the blood.

Interactions

Interactions with other medicines

  • Some medicines can affect how Rosukem A Capsule functions, or this medicine itself can diminish the effectiveness of other medicines when taken concurrently. Inform your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbal products you are currently taking or may consider taking to prevent any possible interactions.
  • Rosukem A Capsule must not be used alongside methotrexate (used in cancer treatment) as it could be harmful when used together. Avoid taking this capsule with fusidic acid (a medication for bacterial infections), as simultaneous treatment can lead to serious muscle problems.
  • You may be at an increased risk of muscle damage or severe side effects if taken with cyclosporine, gemfibrozil, fenofibrate, tacrolimus, or ezetimibe. Therefore, caution is advised. The concurrent use of this capsule with medications like probenecid (used to treat gout) is not recommended, as it may alter the effects of probenecid.
  • Blood thinners such as warfarin and heparin, as well as medications used to treat pain and inflammation like aspirin, ibuprofen, and naproxen, can increase the risk of bleeding.
  • Medications used to treat stomach acidity, such as antacids, should not be taken within at least two hours of this capsule.
  • Metamizole (a painkiller) interferes with how this capsule works; thus, concurrent use should be avoided. Exercise caution when using this capsule alongside oral contraceptives or during hormone replacement therapy.
  • Other medicines such as lithium, digoxin, ritonavir, erythromycin, and potassium supplements (amiloride, spironolactone) should be used with care in conjunction with Rosukem A Capsule.
