Interactions of Pronol 40 MG

Interactions with other medicines

  • Combined use of propranolol and calcium channel blockers with negative inotropic effects (e.g., verapamil, diltiazem) will lead to low blood pressure
  • Concomitant use of Propranolol with Fluvoxamine can cause the lower heart rate
  • Concomitant use of propranolol with barbiturates will reduce the plasma levels and the effects of propranolol
  • Concomitant use of MAO inhibitors (except MAO-B inhibitors) with antihypertensive agents may reduce the antihypertensive effect and lead to hypertensive reactions
  • Concomitant use of chlorpromazine with propranolol can result in a marked rise in plasma levels of both medicines resulting in an enhanced effect of both the medicines
