Prevenar 20 Pre Filled Syringe Of 0.5Ml Vaccine

• If you have a severe allergic reaction (e.g., anaphylaxis) to any component of Prevenar 20 or to diphtheria toxoid.
• If you have had a severe allergic reaction after a previous dose of any pneumococcal conjugate vaccine.

• Pain, tenderness, redness, swelling or hardening at the injection site
• Fever
• Headache
• Muscle pain and joint pain
• Tiredness

• Nausea, vomiting or diarrhoea
• Rash or itching
• Swollen glands near the injection site
• Dizziness, or feeling faint around the time of the injection

• Severe allergic reaction, with swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, difficulty breathing or swallowing, a widespread rash, a sudden drop in blood pressure or collapse
• A high or persistent fever, particularly if accompanied by severe symptoms or if you feel very unwell, requires medical assessment.

Other General Warnings

• You have an acute, severe illness with fever. Vaccination should be postponed until you have recovered. A mild infection such as a cold without fever is not a reason to delay.
• You belong to the immunocompromised group, or take medicines that suppress the immune system, as your response to the vaccine may be weaker.
• You have a bleeding or clotting disorder, a low platelet count, or take blood-thinning medicines, as an intramuscular injection can cause bleeding or bruising.
• You have fainted after an injection before, or have a history of seizures, including fits brought on by fever.
• You have had a severe allergic reaction to any vaccine, or to diphtheria toxoid.
• You have no spleen, a poorly functioning spleen, a cochlear implant or a cerebrospinal fluid leak, as additional pneumococcal vaccination may be recommended.
• Never inject this vaccine into a vein. A healthcare professional should administer it, with facilities available to manage a severe allergic reaction.

• Prevenar 20 vaccine will be administered by a physician or healthcare professional.
• Do not self-inject; it is for intramuscular use only.
• Adults receive a single dose, given into the muscle of the upper arm. It must never be given into a vein.
• Tell the doctor or nurse before the injection about any allergies, fever on the day, bleeding or clotting problems, and any medicines that affect the immune system.
• Stay where you were vaccinated for a short observation period afterwards so staff can treat any immediate reaction.
• Follow any aftercare instructions the doctor or nurse gives you, and keep the vaccination record or card you receive.

• Store refrigerated at 2°C to 8 °C.
• Store syringes horizontally in the refrigerator to minimise the time they are resuspended.
• Do not freeze.
• Discard the vaccine if it has been frozen.
• Store it in the original carton to protect it from light.
• Keep it out of the sight and reach of children and pets.
• Do not use the vaccine after its expiry date, or if the packaging is damaged or the contents look unusual. Shake the suspension before use; it should look like a uniform white liquid.

• After the injection, gently moving or rotating your arm can help reduce any temporary soreness at the injection site.
• Tell your doctor if you have had any past reactions to vaccines or if you are currently feeling unwell.
• Drinking plenty of water before and after your appointment can help you feel better overall.
• If you notice any unusual swelling or feel lightheaded after leaving, contact your doctor immediately.
