Piritexyl BR syrup is a combination of medications used to treat cough and congestion and release mucus. In addition, it is used for wet cough in children. The medication is generally prescribed for
sneezing, watery eyes, runny nose, and blocked nose. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the treatment. Store the medication in a cool and dry place. Make sure to keep it away from children and pets. Do not take more than the prescribed dose. If you have taken more than the prescribed dose and experience symptoms of overdose, contact your doctor immediately or rush to the nearest hospital.

Mode of Action of Piritexyl Br Syrup 100ml
How Does It Work?
The medication consists of ambroxol, terbutaline, guaifenesin, and menthol. Ambroxol is a mucolytic that treats the mucus breakdown and makes breathing easier. Terbutaline is a beta 2-adrenergic bronchodilator that relaxes the bronchial lung muscle for treating the cough. Guaifenesin is an expectorant that works by releasing the phlegm from the lungs to clear the lungs from coughing, and menthol is added to treat the throat irritation, which can be caused due to excessive coughing....
Directions for Use of Piritexyl Br Syrup 100ml
- Take this medication for the dose and duration as prescribed by your doctor
- Give this to your children in the metered cap attached to the bottle
- Do not use any other measuring device, such as a different spoon or caps
Interactions of Piritexyl Br Syrup 100ml
Interactions with other medicines
- The medication can interact with other corticosteroids and diuretics, which can cause cardiac arrhythmias
- This medication with anti-depressants or other bronchodilators can result in respiratory depression
- Hypokalemia can be seen with high doses of B2 - agonists
- Concomitant use of aminophylline or other xanthines can cause hypokalemia
- Sympathomimetic bronchodilators or epinephrine should not be used with salbutamol as it can have a deleterious effect on the patient
- Caution to be taken when using this medication with MAO inhibitors or tricyclic anti-depressants
