Uses
- Pexep 20 mg Tablet manages the symptoms of depression.
- Pexep 20 mg Tablet also manages anxiety-related disorders such as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and panic disorder.
Contraindications
- If you have an allergy to Pexep 20 mg Tablet or Paroxetine
- If you are under 18 years of age
Side effects
- Here are the most common side effects of Pexep 20 mg Tablet:
- Dry mouth
- Nausea/ vomiting sensation
- Loss of appetite
- Fatigue/ extreme tiredness or body pain
- Dizziness
- Constipation/ difficulty in passing stools
- Pexep 20 mg Tablet has fewer side effects than older antidepressants, and they are mild and disappear gradually as your body gets used to the medicine. If the side effects are too much and troublesome, speak to your doctor.

- If you experience allergic reactions to Pexep 20 mg Tablet such as difficulty breathing, rashes, itching, bluish skin colour, swelling of face, tongue, or throat. Contact your doctor or the emergency medical department immediately.
- If you are experiencing sudden mood changes when you are on Pexep 20 mg Tablet. Contact your doctor immediately.
- If you are getting thoughts of harming yourself when you are on Pexep 20 mg Tablet. Speak to your doctor immediately.
- If you have kidney disease
- If you have liver disease
- If you have epilepsy (fits)
- If you have diabetes (high blood sugar levels)
- If you have heart disease
- If you have glaucoma (increased pressure in the eyes)
Directions for Use
- Swallow Pexep 20 mg Tablet as a whole with a glass full of water. Do not chew/ break open/ crush Pexep 20 mg Tablet.
- Take Pexep 20 mg Tablet with food or without food as advised by your doctor.
- Initially, your doctor might prescribe lower doses and gradually increase the dosage. Pexep 20 mg Tablet takes some time to work. Do not change the dosage without speaking to your doctor.
- For maximum benefits, take Pexep 20 mg Tablet at the same time, every day as suggested by your doctor.
- When it is the right time, your doctor will gradually reduce the Pexep 20 mg Tablet dosage over a few weeks before stopping the medicine.

Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Seek medical advice if you are on other antidepressant medicines like MAOI (Monoamine Oxidase inhibitors), for example, Rasagiline. Taking Pexep 20 mg Tablet when you are on MAOI can cause severe life-threatening adverse reactions.
- Seek medical advice if you are on medicines that fight infection, such as linezolid. Taking Pexep 20 mg Tablet when you are on such medicines can cause life-threatening reactions.
- Seek medical advice if you are on breast cancer medicines, such as Tamoxifen. Taking Pexep 20 mg Tablet when you are on such medicines can reduce the efficacy of Tamoxifen and make breast cancer recur.
- Inform your doctor if you are on any other medications before taking Pexep 20 mg Tablet. Do not take any medication without informing your doctor.
