Medical Description
Pari CR tablet is a prescription drug that is used to tackle depression. This medication is a combination drug and contains two salts called Paroxetine and Clonazepam. These drugs work by reducing anxiety and improving mood by increasing the levels of a chemical that enhances mood. It also suppresses the abnormal activity of nerve cells in the brain. Anxiety is a natural stress response and can be interpreted as a feeling of unease or worry about a situation. Some people may develop an anxiety disorder in which they experience excessive tension and unrealistic worry for little or no reason.
Pari CR tablets should be taken every day at the same time to ensure a certain level of medication is maintained throughout the day. Always take Pari CR as and when prescribed by your doctor. If you feel that a prescribed dosage isn’t working for you, consult your doctor about adjusting the same. Do not change the dosage by yourself. It is not advised to stop taking the drug by yourself if you feel well since that can result in withdrawal symptoms.
Some common side effects of the medication include confusion, nausea, low sexual desire, delayed ejaculation, dizziness, drowsiness, etc. If your symptoms worsen or you develop new problems, consult your doctor. Inform your doctor about any drug that you might be taking already. This medication shouldn't be given to children and people below the age of 18.

Contraindications
If you are hypersensitive or allergic to benzodiazepines or serotonin reuptake inhibitors, clonazepam, paroxetine or other inactive substances present in the medication.
If you take Pimozide, a medication used to treat patients who have uncontrolled movements, outbursts of vocal words or psychosis. It can increase the risk of irregular heartbeat.
If you take a medication called Thioridazine that is used to treat schizophrenia. Taking Pari CR can increase the risk of developing serious side effects.
If you take any medication that belongs in the monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI) class. These medications are used to tackle depression. Taking MAOIs and Pari CR together can lead to increased side effects and life-threatening situations. A gap of at least 14 days should be maintained between stopping an antidepressant from this class and beginning therapy with Pari CR.

Talk to your doctor if
- If you feel pressure in your eyes:
- Patients with glaucoma have an increased risk of developing adverse side effects. Glaucoma patients should be monitored closely.
- You have a history of seizure disorders:
- Pari CR should be used with extreme caution in patients who have a history of seizure disorders. Pari CR can cause an increased risk of recurrent seizures. If you develop seizures or there is an increase in the frequency of seizures, the drug should be discontinued. Talk to your doctor about a suitable replacement.
- Children:
- Pari CR is not recommended in children below the age of 18 years.
- You are having suicidal thoughts:
- Patients who have depression should use the drug with caution. Pari CR can increase the risk of confusion and developing suicidal thoughts. It is important to report any change in your thoughts or signs to your doctor, who can reduce your dosage or find a more suitable medicine for you.
- You have high blood pressure:
- Patients with high blood pressure should use the drug with caution. It has been linked with an increase in blood pressure levels. Regular monitoring of blood pressure is required.
Directions for Use
- Take this medication as and when directed by your doctor.
- Swallow the pill whole with a glass of water.
- Do not break, crush or chew the tablet since that can reduce its efficacy.
- The pill can be taken with or without food.
- Take the pill at the same time every day to ensure that a constant level of medication is maintained in the blood. This also avoids the chances of missing the drug.
- Do not take the medication for more time than what is recommended by the doctor since Pari CR is habit-forming.
- Do not stop taking the medication without consulting your doctor.
Storage and disposal
Store the medication at room temperature. Keep the medication away from animals and children in a locked cabinet. Store the medication in a cool and dry area, away from sunlight. Do not remove the drug from its packet and store it within its original packaging. Do not take the medication past its expiry date and dispose of it along with the biomedical waste.

- Taking too much Pari CR can be dangerous. It can lead to feeling excessively sleepy, dizzy or sick. Contact your nearest hospital or call your doctor for emergency treatment if there are any severe side effects.
Missed a Dose
If you forget to take a dose, check the information leaflet given with the medication or ask your doctor about the same. Take the next dose of Pari CR as and when you remember it. If it is time for the next dose, take that dose and skip the missed dosage. Do not take an extra dose of Pari CR to compensate for the missed dosage.

How Does It Work?
The Pari CR tablet contains two salts called Paroxetine and Clonazepam. Paroxetine belongs to a class of drugs known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI). It works by increasing the levels of serotonin hormone that improves mood. Clonazepam is a benzodiazepine (BZD). It works by increasing the levels of GABA (gamma-Aminobutyric acid). This chemical messenger reduces the brain’s abnormal or excessive excitability of nerve cells.
This helps in reducing anxiety and other symptoms associated with anxiety. Pari CR tablet is an effective antidepressant since it balances out the level of certain chemicals and relieves anxiety. It also improves productivity and reduces other signs seen with anxiety.

- Do not drink alcohol while taking Pari CR, as it can intensify the effects. Food doesn’t influence the effect of Pari CR. Talk to your doctor about any supplements or herbal drinks you are currently taking before using Pari CR.
