Uses
- Oltha 5 mg is prescribed for treatment of psychiatric disorders like:
- Schizophrenia
- Bipolar disorder
- Clinical depression
Contraindications
- Oltha 5 mg may not be prescribed if you have:
- Allergy to Olanzapine
- History of/or present Glaucoma (an eye condition)
- Heart conditions
- Dementia, especially with older adults (decreasing mental capacity to remember or process things)
- Diabetes
- Parkinson’s disease (neurological disorder that affects movements)
- Prescribed with caution in :
- Epilepsy (person having episodes of fits)
- Liver diseases
- Kidney disorders
- History of brain stroke
Side effects
- Oltha 5 mg can cause the following side effects:
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Chest pain
- Dry mouth
- Sleepiness

- You have an allergy to the medication (rashes, swelling on the face).

Directions for Use
- Oltha 5 mg is a tablet which can be taken before or after meals depending on the instructions given by your physician.
- The tablet should be taken immediately and placed on/below the tongue after removing it from the pack.
- Flip the metal foil to open the tablets. Do not try to remove the tablet by breaking through the pack.
- You may/may not follow it up with water.

Interactions with other medicines
- Before starting on Oltha 5 mg, you have to inform your physician if you did take /are on any of following medications:
- Clonazepam, diazepam.
- Opioid analgesics like tramadol/codeine
- Antidepressants
- Dopamine agonists (bromocriptine, cabergoline)
- Ciprofloxacin, ofloxacin
- Seizure medications
- Ulcer medications
- Sleeping pills
- Tranquillisers
- Oltha may cause an interaction if consumed with any of the medicines mentioned above. The interaction between these two medicines can cause an adverse effect on the body. Additionally, in some cases, these medicines interact with each other decreasing the effectiveness of either.
