Description
Nitravet 5mg is used in the treatment of anxiety disorders, insomnia, and the prevention of seizures. It contains Nitrazepam, which works by boosting levels of a relaxing chemical in the brain called
gamma-amino-butyric acid (GABA). This relieves anxiety, prevents subsequent seizures (fits), and relaxes tense muscles. Nitravet 5mg also helps alleviate transitory insomnia (sleeplessness) caused by anxiety disorders. It is a fast-acting medication that induces sleep and takes 30 to 60 minutes, after which the person may sleep for 6 to 8 hours. As a result, it should be taken before bedtime. Daytime sleepiness, loss of coordination, nightmares, headache, light-headedness, or dizziness are all possible side effects of Nitravet 5mg. The majority of these adverse effects do not require medical treatment and will go away over time. However, if the side effects persist, contact your doctor. This medicine may interact with other medicines you are taking. Talk to your doctor to know Nitravet 5 mg interaction with food and with other medicines.

Uses of Nitravet 5 MG
- In the management of anxiety disorder. It helps to reduce excessive nervousness, restlessness and worry.
- This medicine is also used in treating epilepsy.
- This medication is used to manage insomnia. It helps in symptoms like trouble sleeping or staying asleep.
Contraindications of Nitravet 5 MG
- Allergy
- In people with a known allergy to nitrazepam or any other active components in Nitravet tablet.
- Myasthenia gravis
- It is a neuromuscular disease that causes skeletal muscle weakness.
- Because of the increased risk of side effects, this medicine is unsafe in myasthenia gravis.
- Severe liver disease
- Due to the increased risk of the patient's condition worsening, this medicine may be harmful in patients with severe liver disease.
- Narrow-angle glaucoma (increased eye pressure)
- This medication may exacerbate the symptoms of closed-angle glaucoma.

- You have lung disease, muscle weakness (myasthenia gravis), or severe liver or renal disease. In such cases, do not take Nitravet 5mg without a doctor's consultation.
- You are under the age of 18 years.
- You have a history of drug addiction. Nitravet 5 mg is a habit-forming substance that involves a risk of addiction in those with a history of addictions.
- See your doctor before discontinuing it, since it may produce withdrawal symptoms such as anxiety, elevated heart rate, tremor, or general malaise. To avoid side effects, a progressive dose reduction is recommended....
- Any changes in the patient's mood or behaviour should be observed. Report if you experience suicidal thoughts so that counselling and progress monitoring can be done.

How Does It Work?
Directions for Use of Nitravet 5 MG
- Follow the doctor's instructions for using this medication.
- Do not exceed the recommended or prescribed dosage.
- Take Nitravet 5mg with or without food, preferably at bedtime.
- Swallow the whole pill with a glass of water or juice.
- It is not a chewable tablet, so do not chew, crush or break it in any way.
- In case of side effects, talk to the concerned doctor.
- Do not stop medicine before the course is finished/without consulting the doctor, as withdrawal symptoms may occur.

- Chlorphenamine

- Nitravet or Nitrazepam can interact with some of these medicines causing an adverse reaction in the body. Sometimes these reactions may require hospitalisation in an emergency.
- It is advisable to avoid Nitravet with these medicines since some of them may decrease the efficiency of each other.
Interactions with food items
- Grapefruit juice and caffeine-containing beverages should be avoided since they can reduce the effectiveness of Nitravet 5mg.
