Nite Tablet is a prescription medicine mainly used for the treatment of seizures, insomnia (lack of sleep), and anxiety disorder. Epilepsy or seizure disorder is abnormal electrical activity of the nerve cells in the brain. This medicine helps lower the symptoms of these conditions, which can improve the quality of life.
Nite Tablet is composed of a single active ingredient: Nitrazepam. It increases the activity of certain chemical messengers in the brain that lower its excess activity, which helps in lowering seizures. It also causes sedation and has anti-anxiety properties.
This medicine is not recommended for children below 18 years of age. It should be only taken if prescribed by the doctor. It causes physical dependency if used for the long term. So, it is essential to monitor the dosage and only use it for a short duration. Also, you should not stop using this medicine suddenly as it can cause withdrawal symptoms like sudden movements, sweating, muscle pain, vomitings, etc. Inform your doctor about your entire medical history and current treatment to prevent any side effects.

Directions for Use
- Take the Nite Tablet exactly as prescribed by the doctor.
- Do not exceed the dosage, even if you cannot notice its effects.
- You can take Nite Tablet with or without food.
- Do not break or chew the tablet.
- Try to take this tablet as a whole with a glass of water.
- Do not take Nite Tablet with other medications without informing your doctor.
- Do not take this if the package has been opened.

Storage and disposal

Overdose
- Overdose on Nite Tablets can cause dizziness, nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, involuntary muscle movements, anxiety, changes in blood pressure, confusion, agitation, sleep disturbances, etc. Serious overdose can also produce mental status changes, slurred voice, diminished awareness, etc. If you overdose on Nite medicine and experience any of these symptoms, immediately seek emergency medical treatment from a hospital nearby.
Missed a Dose
If you have missed a dose of this Nite Tablet, take it as soon as possible. If it's already time to take the next dose, do not take a double dose, as it can cause an overdose. Skip the missed one and take the next Nite Tablet.
Mode of Action
How Does It Work?
Nite Tablets contain nitrazepam as a single active ingredient. Nitrazepam belongs to benzodiazepine (depressants) and tranquilliser class of medications. It works by increasing the action of GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid), which is a chemical messenger in the brain. GABA lowers the abnormal or excessive activity of nerve cells in the brain. It is responsible for its antiepileptic (lowers seizures) and sedation properties.
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Do not use other sedatives or depressant medicines if you are using this medicine. The reactions between them can cause increased side effects. Inform your doctor if you have used any in the last 14 days.
- Do not take Nite Tablet If you are using opioid pain relievers, cough medicine, sleeping pills, or antihistamines (allergy medicine) like cetirizine, as it can cause excessive drowsiness.
- If you are using antibiotics, antifungals, HIV medicine, psychiatric medications, etc., inform your doctor, as the dose may need to be adjusted.

- Nite Tablets do not have any known interactions with food. This tablet can be taken with food or on an empty stomach.
