Nilac gel is used in reducing acne, blackheads and whiteheads, also helps in preventing acne and reducing acne scars. It contains clindamycin and nicotinamide as active ingredients. Clindamycin is an
antibiotic and nicotinamide (also known as Niacin) is a form of vitamin B3. Do not pop acne as it may lead to bacteria & pus spreading on the skin that can lead to the spread of acne and acne scar. Inform your doctor about all the medical conditions you suffer from and all medicines you take before starting this gel. Nilac gel is meant only for external application and should be applied exactly as recommended by your doctor. Wash your hands after applying this gel.

Contraindications of Nilac Gel 10gm
- If you are allergic to clindamycin, nicotinamide (vitamin B3) or any other components of Nilac gel.
- If you have experienced diarrhoea after using an antibiotic.
- If you have a history of inflammatory bowel disease.

Mode of Action of Nilac Gel 10gm
How Does It Work?
- Clindamycin is an antibiotic agent which is widely used for treating various bacterial infections of the skin. It inhibits the growth and multiplication of acne-causing bacteria.
- Nicotinamide acts as an anti-inflammatory agent and reduces the swelling and redness associated with acne. It also regulates the amount of acne-causing oil being produced by the oil glands in your skin and helps in lightening the marks due to pimples, acne and other skin problems....
Directions for Use of Nilac Gel 10gm
- Nilac gel is meant for external use only, and you should use it as prescribed by your doctor.
- Apply it on the skin surface that is free from cuts, wounds and injury.
- Avoid touching the tip of the container directly to the infected area of the skin.
- Wash your hands before & after using this medicine.
- In case your eyes come in contact with this gel rinse your eyes with clean water immediately.

Interactions with other medicines
- Nilac gel is applied externally on the skin, thus it is less likely to interact with other medicines taken orally. However, it may interact with other topically applied cream and gel. Discuss with your doctor if you are already on another topical gel or cream....
- There is limited information available on the interaction of Nilac gel with other medicines. However, as this gel contains clindamycin & nicotinamide, any interaction seen with these two components when taken alone may occur with this combination....
- You need to be cautious if you are taking oral anticoagulants like Warfarin, Acenocoumarol and Fluindione as this medicine may interact with them. Regular monitoring of blood coagulation parameters is recommended....

Overdose
Nilac gel is meant for external application. The cases of overdose are unlikely. However, upon accidental ingestion reach out to your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital. If you have overapplied it, wipe out the excess gel with the help of clean tissue or cotton....
