Medical Description
Neukine solution for injection contains filgrastim as the active pharmaceutical ingredient. It belongs to the class of hematopoietic growth factors known as granulocyte colony-stimulating factors (G-CSF).
Neukine solution for injection is indicated to reduce the duration and severity of neutropenia (abnormally low levels of neutrophils) and the risk of life-threatening infections in patients undergoing cytotoxic chemotherapy, bone marrow transplantation, peripheral blood progenitor cell (PBPC) mobilization, severe chronic neutropenia. It is also used in some patients with HIV-associated neutropenia. ,
Neukine solution for injection acts directly on specific cell surface receptors on hematopoietic stem cells and neutrophil precursors, stimulating their survival, proliferation, differentiation, and maturation into functional mature neutrophils. It also enhances the functional activities of mature neutrophils, including phagocytosis and bactericidal capacity.
Because treatment requires monitoring of white blood cell and platelet counts, an experienced physician or oncologist administers and manages it under supervision.
