Netromycin Injection is an antibiotic medicine. It contains netilmicin as the active substance. Netromycin Injection is used to treat bacterial infections of the urinary tract, gastrointestinal tract
, skin, soft tissue, blood, blood poisoning by bacteria, brain, respiratory tract, kidney, bones, joints and genitourinary tract. It is also used to treat the bacterial infections caused due to burns, wounds and peri-operative (around the time of surgery) infections. This medicine will be given to you by your doctor or nurse. Do not self-inject it. Before starting Netromycin Injection, inform your doctor if you are pregnant/breastfeeding and about your complete medical history.

Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines can affect the way Netromycin Injection works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Tell your doctor about all medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
- The concurrent and/or sequential systemic or topical use of other nerve-damaging and/or kidney-damaging medicines such as cisplatin, bacitracin, polymyxin B, colistin, cephaloridine, amphotericin B, kanamycin, acyclovir, gentamicin, amikacin, sisomicin, tobramycin, neomycin, streptomycin, paromomycin, cephalothin, viomycin and vancomycin, should be avoided with Netromycin Injection. ...
- The concurrent use of this medicine with potent diuretics, such as ethacrynic acid or frusemide, should be avoided.
- Increased kidney damage may occur with the concomitant use of Netromycin Injection with some cephalosporins (used to treat bacterial infections).
- Neuromuscular blockade and respiratory paralysis can occur if neuromuscular blocking medicines such as succinylcholine, tubocurarine or decamethonium and anaesthetics are used with this medicine.
