Medical Description
Mytera tablet contains abiraterone, an orally active medicine belonging to the class of CYP17 inhibitors. It works by inhibiting the CYP17 enzyme complex, which is required for androgen production in the testes, adrenal glands, and prostate tumour tissue. By reducing androgen production throughout the body, Mytera tablet deprives prostate cancer cells of hormones that can promote their growth and spread.
Mytera tablet is supplied as oral tablets and is used in combination with a corticosteroid such as prednisone or prednisolone, under the supervision of an oncologist.
