Myoprol Xl H Strip Of 10 Tablets
Medical Description
Myoprol Xl H tablet is a combination medication used to treat hypertension. It contains metoprolol and hydrochlorothiazide as active ingredients. Metoprolol is a beta-blocker that specifically targets the heart to reduce the heart rate and enhance its efficiency in pumping blood throughout the body. Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic that lowers blood pressure by eliminating excess water and certain electrolytes from the body. Over time, it also relaxes blood vessels and improves blood flow.
You can take Myoprol Xl H tablet with or without food, but it is recommended to take it in the morning to minimise nighttime urination. Continue taking this medication for as long as your doctor advises. Even if you feel well, do not stop taking it on your own, as high blood pressure often has no symptoms, and discontinuing the medication may worsen your condition.
Common side effects include nausea, constipation, diarrhoea, and fatigue. If any of these side effects trouble you, worsen, or do not go away, consult your doctor. Drink plenty of fluids to alleviate symptoms such as muscle weakness, dry mouth, and excessive thirst. You may experience dizziness or headaches due to low blood pressure, so be sure to rise slowly from a sitting position and avoid driving if you feel unsteady.
Inform your doctor if you have any liver or kidney issues before taking this medication. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor before use.
