Mycobutol is a common medicine prescribed by doctors to treat tuberculosis. It comes under a vast group of medicines called antitubercular medicines. Tuberculosis is an infectious disease affecting m

ainly the lungs. It is an infectious disease that gets transferred from one person to another through air droplets. Mycobutol is composed of ethambutol, which stops the growth of bacteria by creating a bacteriostatic environment in the body and, hence, treating the patient from tuberculosis. The significant side-effects of taking mycobutol are optic neuritis with blurred vision and selective colour blindness (red and green). Ethambutol, the medicine’s main ingredient, is effective if taken with other anti-tubercular medications. Also, the dose of the medication is prescribed according to the age and condition of the person.
