MP 16mg Tablets contain methylprednisolone as the main ingredient. Methylprednisolone is a natural hormone produced by the body. It is given as tablets when the body does produce enough of this hormo

ne. MP 16mg Tablet is used to treat endocrine disorders, rheumatic disorders, collagen diseases, eye diseases, respiratory diseases, cancers or tumours, tissue swelling, gastrointestinal problems, multiple sclerosis, tuberculous meningitis, trichinosis, skin diseases, blood disorders, and allergic states. This medicine is only available on a doctor's prescription and should be taken at a dose and for a duration prescribed by the doctor. Do not use this medicine during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or in children unless recommended by a doctor. Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you are allergic to any ingredients. Contact your doctor immediately if you notice any unusual side effects after taking this medicine.

Interactions with other medicines

Methylprednisolone and cyclosporin inhibits the metabolism of each other when administered together
Coadministration of cyclosporin can cause convulsions
Coadministration of phenobarbital, phenytoin, or rifampin increases excretion of methylprednisolone
Coadministration of troleandomycin or ketoconazole inhibits the metabolism and reduces the excretion of methylprednisolone
Coadministration of high does of aspirin reduces excretion of aspirin, leading to salicylate toxicity
Methylprednisolone can increase or decrease the effect of blood-thinning medications
