- Meladate Tablet is not recommended for patients below 18 years of age.
Directions for Use
- Take Meladate Tablet with a glass of water on an empty stomach.
- You should avoid eating food for at least 2 hours before or 2 hours after taking this Tablet.
- Swallow it whole, do not break, crush or chew the Tablet. It is essential to take it regularly and at a fixed time.
- Follow your doctor’s instructions and do not exceed that dose more than that recommended.
Storage and disposal
- Meladate Tablets should be stored at room temperature, protected from moisture and heat.
- Keep them out of reach and sight of children and pets.
- Do not use expired medicines. Discard unused medicines properly. Do not flush it in the toilet or throw it into the drain.

Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- You should always tell the doctor if you are taking any other medicines, herbal preparations or supplements to avoid any interactions.
- Simultaneous use of Meladate Tablets along with fluvoxamine (used in the treatment of mental health) should be avoided.
- Medicines like cimetidine (used to treat stomach problems), estrogens (in contraceptives or hormone replacement therapy), quinolones (used to treat bacterial infections), when used along with Meladate Tablets, may increase the effects of this Tablet and should thus be used cautiously.
- Medicines like carbamazepine (used to treat epilepsy or fits) or rifampicin (antibiotic), when taken along with this medicine, may decrease the effect of Meladate Tablets.
- Other medicines like warfarin, midazolam, zolpidem should be used with caution along with this medicine.
