Lukotas 10 MG Description
Lukotas 10 mg Tablet is a prescription medicine. Preventing asthma and treating allergy symptoms such as sneezing and runny nose is the main use of Lukotas tablets. For asthma caused due to exercise,
this medicine should be used at least 2 hours before any physical activity for maximum effectiveness. This medication is approved to use in adults and children over 12 months of age. It is often used with other medications to treat asthma or allergic symptoms. The main component of this medication is Montelukast. It is an anti-allergic medicine. The mode of action of Lukotas 10 mg tablets is to reduce inflammation in the airways and make breathing easier. This medication does not treat sudden breathing problems, which requires carrying an inhaler with medicine. Diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, headache, and abdominal pain are some of the common side effects of Lukotas 10 mg tablet. Most of these side effects do not require any medical attention. However, it is best to consult the doctor in case of persisting or worsening symptoms. Inform the doctor if the patient has any liver condition, is currently expecting or breastfeeding.

Uses of Lukotas 10 MG
- As per CDSCO and USFDA, Lukotas 10 mg tablet is indicated for the treatment of the following conditions:
- Short-term and long-term treatment of asthma in adults patients and children over 12 months
- Prevention of sudden asthma attacks due to excess physical activity (exercise-induced bronchoconstriction (EIB)) in patients 6 years of age and older
- For relief from symptoms of allergic rhinitis (sneezing, congestion, itchy nose and sore throat) such as seasonal allergic rhinitis (SAR) in patients 2 years of age and older, and year-round allergic rhinitis (PAR) in patients 6 months and older....
Contraindications of Lukotas 10 MG
- If you have a history of serious hypersensitivity to Montelukast or other similar medications. Serious allergic reactions require immediate emergency treatment with supportive measures.
- If you are using this medicine as the only treatment for acute asthma attacks.
- If you suddenly change inhaled or oral corticosteroids to Lukotas 10 mg tablet.
- If you have any sensitivity to aspirin or NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents).
- If you have been diagnosed with symptoms of Churg-Strauss syndrome (causes blood vessel inflammation).
- If you have a rare genetic problem of galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption
- If you experience any neuropsychiatric side effects such as seizures, addictions, eating disorders, migraines, attention deficit disorder, etc.

This medicine can decrease the levels of Lukotas tablets in the blood, which can lower the effectiveness of the medicine.
