Mode of Action
How Does It Work?
The medication contains tricholine citrate, sorbitol and silymarin. Tricholine citrate removes the bile acids from the body, reducing the cholesterol-binding with the bile. Sorbitol acts as a laxative and improves intestinal functioning. Silymarin acts as an antioxidant and a hepatoprotective agent, where it promotes the regeneration of hepatocytes and inhibits fibrinogen formation in the liver....
Directions for Use
- As advised by your doctor, take this medication, measure and use the drug with the metered cap given with the syrup
- Do not use more quantity for quick treatment; avoid using a spoon or other measuring device for taking the dose
- Take this medication for the dose and duration advised by your doctor
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- MAO inhibitors when taken with this medication prolong and intensify the anticholinergic effects of antihistamines
- Livolysin S suspension may have additive effects with other CNS depressants like hypnotics, sedatives, tranquilizers and antianxiety agents
- Tricholine citrate may interact with anticholinergic drugs, therefore, should be used with caution
- Sorbitol when taken with lamivudine decreases the efficacy of lamivudine
- Co-administration of sodium polystyrene sulfonate with sorbitol may cause intestinal damage
Other general Interactions
This medication should not be used in patients with obstructive jaundice
