Medical Description
Lipikind 20 tablet is used to lower the lipid or bad cholesterol in the blood and reduce the risk of heart disease. This medicine stops the enzymes responsible for the formation of cholesterol. You should take Lipikind as advised by your doctor in the prescribed doses at a fixed time to gain optimum benefits. Avoid smoking and consuming alcohol during the treatment. Also, avoid consuming high-fat, fried and junk meals and maintain a healthy and active lifestyle to get the most benefits along with Lipikind 20 tablet.
Atorva 20 tablet, Aztor 20 tablet, Tonact 20 tablet and Storvas 20 tablet are a few more tablets with atorvastatin as their active ingredient. Complete the entire course as prescribed by your doctor, even if you start feeling better after taking this medicine. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning on becoming pregnant or breastfeeding and your complete medical history, including all the medicines you are taking to avoid possible adverse effects.

- Avoid taking this medicine if you have liver diseases like hepatitis or jaundice and are on medications like glecaprevir or pibrentasvir
- Avoid taking this medicine if you are pregnant or even if you are planning

- Before consuming this medicine, report to the doctor if you have kidney problems and abnormal liver tests

Interactions with other medicines
- Atorvastatin should not be taken together with fusidic acid (medicine for bacterial infections) or within 7 days of taking fusidic acid, as it can cause severe muscle damage
- Other cholesterol-lowering agents like gemfibrozil, colestipol can lead to severe muscle breakdown
- Hepatitis C medicine like glecaprevir or pibrentasvir should be avoided with this medicine
- Some medicines like itraconazole, clarithromycin, ketoconazole, erythromycin, telithromycin, ritonavir, lopinavir, atazanavir, indinavir, darunavir, tipranavir or ritonavir can lead to increase in the absorption of this medicine in the body and may cause serious side effects
