Levotrig Syrup is an anti-allergic medicine used to provide relief from the symptoms of allergic rhinitis like sneezing, itchy nose, runny or blocked nose, cough and red and watery eyes. It is also u

sed to treat the symptoms of nettle rash (urticaria) in adults and children aged 2 years and above. Levotrig Syrup contains levocetirizine as the active substance. It works by blocking the action of a chemical substance called histamine responsible for causing allergic reactions. Take this medicine in the exact dose and duration as directed by your doctor. Do not take more than the prescribed dose. Shake well before use. Before using Levotrig Syrup, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning on becoming pregnant, breastfeeding and about your complete medical history. Also, inform about all the medicines and supplements that you take.

Uses of Levotrig 2.5 MG/5ML

Levotrig Syrup is used to provide relief of the symptoms of allergic rhinitis like sneezing, itchy nose, runny or blocked nose, cough and red and watery eyes.
It is also used to treat the symptoms of nettle rash (urticaria) in adults and children aged 2 years and above.

Contraindications of Levotrig 2.5 MG/5ML

If you are allergic to levocetirizine, cetirizine, hydroxyzine, any other piperazine derivatives or any other ingredient of Levotrig Syrup.
If you have kidney failure/end stage kidney disease with an estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR) below 10 ml/min and require dialysis.

Side effects of Levotrig 2.5 MG/5ML

Headache, sleepiness, dry mouth, tiredness (adults and adolescents)
Vomiting, diarrhoea, sleepiness, sleep disturbances (children)

Pregnancy

Can I take Levotrig Syrup during pregnancy?

There is limited information on the effect of Levotrig Syrup in pregnant women. Therefore, this medicine should only be used in pregnancy if recommended by the doctor.

Breast Feeding

Can I take Levotrig Syrup while breastfeeding?

Levotrig Syrup may pass into human breast milk. Thus, this medicine should only be used in breastfeeding women if recommended by the doctor.

Driving

Can I drive if I have used Levotrig Syrup?

Levotrig Syrup may cause sleepiness, tiredness, and physical weakness. If you experience any such effects after taking this medicine that may affect your ability to drive safely, it is advised to avoid driving.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with Levotrig Syrup?

Alcohol should not be used together with Levotrig Syrup as it may cause further reduction in mental alertness and performance.

Overdose

Symptoms of overdose of Levotrig Syrup include sleepiness in adults and restlessness and sleepiness in children.
If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.

Missed a Dose

If you missed a dose of Levotrig Syrup, take it as soon as you remember.
If it's time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule.
