Description

Influvac suspension for injection helps protect against influenza (flu) by exposing the body to a small dose of inactivated proteins from the influenza virus, allowing the immune system to build immunity. It does not treat an existing flu infection. The vaccine is administered via intramuscular injection by a doctor or nurse.

This vaccine is especially important for the elderly or those with chronic health conditions such as diabetes, heart failure, kidney failure, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It is also recommended for young children over six months old.

Possible mild side effects include headache, muscle pain, weakness, tiredness, bruising, joint pain, sweating, shivering, and pain or swelling at the injection site. These effects are typically short-lived. Consult your doctor if any side effects persist or cause concern.

Before receiving the injection, inform your doctor if you are unwell with a high temperature or have ever had a vaccine allergic reaction. Some other medications may interact with the flu vaccine, so discuss any other treatments you are receiving with your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor first.
