Genotropin injection contains somatotropin, a copy of the human growth hormone used to treat growth disorders. The hormone is created using recombinant DNA technology and used to treat growth failure
caused due to deficiency of growth hormones like short height due to turner's syndrome and Noonan syndrome.

Interactions of Genotropin 12 MG/ML
Interactions with other medicines
- Somatropin can cause inhibition of 11βHSD-1 and reduced serum cortisol concentrations.
- Glucocorticoid treatment may weaken the growth-promoting effects of Somatropin in children.
- Somatropin treatment increases cytochrome P450 medicines corticosteroids, sex steroids, anticonvulsants, and cyclosporine.
- Growth hormone may cause a reduction in T4 and an increase in T3
- somatotropin may reduce the release of cortisol
- A small percentage of persons on somatotropin may develop antibodies to Somatotropin and leukaemia.
- Pancreatitis may be seen in patients on Somatotropin
- Somatotropin can cause kidney dysfunction
