Medical Description

Gabator NT tablet is a combination of two medicines, namely Gabapentin and Nortriptyline. Gabapentin relieves pain arising due to nerve damage and compression in nerves. Nortriptyline acts on your central nervous system and offers relief from neuropathic pain. These two medicines work effectively in reducing neuropathic pain (pain due to nerve damage).

You should take this medicine in a dose and duration prescribed by your doctor. Avoid driving or handling any machinery after taking Gabator NT tablet, as this medicine can make you less alert. Some other tablets containing gabapentin and nortriptyline are Pentanerv Nt tablet, Gabapin NT tablet, Laregab Nt tablet and Doloneuron Nt 400mg tablet. Before starting with this medicine, inform your doctor about all other medicines you are consuming and any other health issues you have, such as heart problems, liver or kidney problems.

Missed a Dose

Mode of Action

How Does It Work?

Gabator NT Tablet combines Gabapentin and Nortriptyline into one tablet. Gabapentin is an alpha 2 delta ligand that reduces pain by altering nerve cell calcium channel function. Nortriptyline is a tricyclic antidepressant that raises the amounts of chemical messengers (serotonin and noradrenaline) in the brain, slowing the transmission of pain signals. They relieve neuropathic pain when used together (pain from damaged nerves).

Interactions

Interactions with other medicines

  • When MAO inhibitors (e.g., ocarboxazid, linezolid, metaxalone, methylene blue, moclobemide, phenelzine, procarbazine, rasagiline, safinamide, selegiline, tranylcypromine) are used with this medication, a fatal interaction can occur.
  • Other medications can interfere with nortriptyline's elimination from your body, changing how it works. Cimetidine, terbinafine, and pharmaceuticals to treat abnormal heart rate (such as quinidine/propafenone/flecainide) are among these medications.
