Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

^

Q: What is neuropathic pain? How can I differentiate it from muscle pain?

A: Neuropathic pain occurs due to damage or injury of the nerves responsible for transferring information to the brain and spinal cord from the skin, muscles and other body parts. It is spontaneous in origin and occurs in the absence of injury or trauma. The pain feels like burning, stabbing and shooting. The patient may describe it as 'pins and needles'. It is associated with nerve damage due to surgery or trauma, viral infections, cancer, vascular malformations and diabetes. It may be a side effect of certain medications.

Q: What precaution must I before using the Gabaneuron tablet?

  • When you are using this medicine, it is advised to use contraception to avoid pregnancy.
  • Components of this medicine cause dependence and caution is advised if you are taking this medicine for a long period.
  • Gabaneuron tablet must not be stopped suddenly and a gradual reduction of the dose is advisable to avoid side effects like fits and other mental problems.

Q: What is the use of this medicine?

A: Gabaneuron 300 contains Gabapentin and Methylcobalamin. This medicine is used to treat pain due to nerve damage (neuropathic pain). It regenerates damaged nerves in the body and decreases the pain sensation.

Q: Will a higher than the recommended dose of Gabaneuron 300 tablet be more effective?

A: No, taking a higher than the recommended dose of Gabaneuron 300 may increase the risk of side effects rather than adding additional therapeutic desired effect. If you feel your symptoms are not improving after taking this medicine, it is advised to re-visit your doctor for re-evaluation.

Q: How long should I take Gabaneuron?

A: The doctor will decide the duration based on the underlying condition. It may take 1-2 weeks to show its effects. It may take longer in some people depending upon the severity of the medical condition. Hence, it is advisable to take your regular painkillers continuously, unless you have been advised to stop taking these by your doctor.

Q: What are the side effects of Gabaneuron?

A: Nausea, confusion, dizziness, sleepiness, nausea, vomiting etc. are a few common side effects that can be seen during the treatment with Gabaneuron. However, these symptoms are usually mild and resolve on their own. Also, it is not important that everyone experience the same.
