Floxip 500 MG Description

Floxip 500 tablet is an antibiotic medicine. It is used in treating various types of bacterial infections such as pneumonia, sinus infection, and infections of the skin, ear, nose, stomach and urinar

y tract. Floxip 500 tablet contains ciprofloxacin as its active ingredient. It works by killing the bacteria responsible for infection by blocking the action of certain enzymes essential for DNA replication and repair. This medicine should be taken in doses and duration as directed by the doctor. It can be taken with or without food. Always complete the course of the treatment, as incomplete treatment may result in treatment failure. Before using this medicine, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or are breastfeeding and about your detailed medical history. Floxip 500 tablets should not be used in children and adolescents.

Uses of Floxip 500 MG

Floxip 500 tablet is used to treat different types of bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, ear, lung, stomach, intestine, skin, soft tissue, bones, joints, and urinary tract.
It is also used to treat sexually transmitted diseases like gonorrhoea.
This medicine is used for the treatment of infections due to certain surgical procedures and septicemia in patients with weak immunity.

Contraindications of Floxip 500 MG

If you are allergic to ciprofloxacin or any ingredient of the Floxip 500 tablet.
If you are taking other quinolone medicines like moxifloxacin, norfloxacin, ofloxacin or nalidixic acid. If you are not sure about which are these medicines ask your doctor.
If you are taking tizanidine (a medicine used to treat muscle spasms).

This medicine is known to cause tendon rupture, nerve damage/pain (peripheral neuropathy). Be cautious and tell your doctor if you already have any of these conditions before initiating the treatment.

Floxip 500 tablet works by blocking the action of an enzyme essential for DNA synthesis in bacteria. This it inhibits bacterial growth, multiplication, and repair.

Do not chew, crush or break it.
