Fericip XT Tablet
Description
Fericip XT Tablet is a nutritional supplement that combines Iron and Folic Acid (Vitamin B9), two essential nutrients required by the body for the formation of healthy blood cells and the prevention of nutritional deficiencies. It is primarily prescribed for the treatment and prevention of iron deficiency anaemia and folate deficiency anaemia, conditions that may cause symptoms such as persistent tiredness, weakness, pale skin, irritability, shortness of breath, poor concentration, and headache.
Iron in Fericip XT plays a central role in the production of haemoglobin, the protein in red blood cells that transports oxygen from the lungs to every part of the body. It is also a component of myoglobin, which provides oxygen to muscles during activity. Adequate iron levels are necessary not only for maintaining energy and stamina but also for supporting proper immune function, body temperature regulation, and the production of certain hormones. Folic Acid (Vitamin B9) is equally important as it supports DNA and RNA synthesis, cell division, and the formation of red blood cells. It is especially crucial during pregnancy, as it helps in the healthy development of the brain and spinal cord of the growing baby and prevents congenital abnormalities such as neural tube defects. Lack of folic acid can lead to megaloblastic anaemia, characterised by the production of abnormally large and immature red blood cells, which are ineffective in carrying oxygen.
Fericip XT Tablet is often prescribed to individuals who are at increased risk of nutritional deficiencies, including pregnant and breastfeeding women, patients recovering from surgery, individuals with poor dietary intake, those with chronic illnesses, or patients with digestive system disorders that affect nutrient absorption. By replenishing iron and folic acid levels, the tablet helps restore normal red blood cell production, improves oxygen delivery to tissues, boosts energy levels, supports immunity, and promotes overall well-being.
While taking Fericip XT, it is advisable to consume foods rich in Vitamin C, such as citrus fruits, as they enhance iron absorption. On the other hand, beverages like tea, coffee, and milk can hinder absorption and should be avoided around the time of taking the tablet.
