Precautions and Warnings

Pregnancy

Pregnancy

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or trying to conceive. Use this cream during pregnancy only when a doctor considers it suitable.

Breast Feeding

Breast Feeding

Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding. Do not apply the cream to the breast immediately before a feed, and ask whether the treated area should be covered.

Driving

Driving

This topical medicine is not expected to affect alertness. Do not drive if accidental eye contact or a severe skin reaction affects your vision or comfort.

Alcohol

Alcohol

Alcohol is not expected to affect the topical action of Exevate G. Follow your doctor's advice if alcohol worsens the skin condition.

Directions for Use

For external use only. Apply a thin layer to clean, healthy skin free from cuts and wounds, exactly as advised by your doctor or pharmacist. Wash your hands before and after application, unless the treated area is your hands. Avoid contact with the eyes and mouth.

Storage and disposal

Keep the cream in its original pack, tightly closed, away from heat, moisture, and direct light. Keep it out of reach of children. Do not use it after the expiry date or if the tube is damaged, and ask a pharmacist about safe disposal.

Quick Tips

  • Use Exevate G only for the inflamed bacterial skin condition for which it was prescribed.
  • Keep the treated area clean and dry, and avoid sharing towels or clothing.
  • Seek medical advice if redness, pain, discharge, or swelling worsens.

Dosage

Overdose

Applying too much or covering a large area can increase skin irritation and steroid absorption. Remove excess cream and seek advice. If you think you have used too much of this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.

Missed a Dose

If you miss an application, apply it when you remember unless it is nearly time for the next application. If it is time for the next application, skip the missed application and continue with the regular schedule. Do not apply extra product to make up for a missed application.

How does this medicine work?

Betamethasone reduces inflammatory activity in the skin, which can relieve redness, swelling, and itching. Gentamicin interferes with bacterial protein production, helping control susceptible bacteria on the skin. The combination is not suitable for every rash or for infections caused by viruses or fungi.

Interactions

Interactions with other medicines

Tell your doctor or pharmacist about other steroid creams, antibiotic creams, gentamicin products, and all other medicines or supplements you use. Using more than one steroid or aminoglycoside medicine can increase unwanted effects.

Interactions with food items

Food does not affect the topical application of Exevate G. Follow your doctor's advice about food and drink for the condition being treated.
