Elosone-HT Cream

• If you are allergic to mometasone, tretinoin, hydroquinone, or any of the ingredients of Elosone HT Cream.
• If you have skin conditions such as rosacea (small red pustules on the face), rashes around the mouth (perioral dermatitis), or damaged skin anywhere in the body.
• If you have a viral or fungal infection of the skin,or ulcers or open wounds in the area to be treated.
• Avoid excessive sun exposure during treatment. If you cannot reliably protect the treated skin from sunlight, discuss this with your dermatologist.
• If you have a skin tumour or a family history of skin tumours.
• If you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant, or plan to become pregnant.
• Do not use it in or near the eyes, on the lips, or on any internal or mucous surface.

• Burning or stinging on application
• Redness and dryness
• Itching
• Light peeling or flaking
• Increased sensitivity of the treated skin to sunlight

• Thinning of the skin, making it fragile and easily bruised
• Visible small blood vessels on the cheeks
• Steroid-induced acne, or small red bumps around the mouth
• Increased facial hair growth
• Changes in skin colour, including worsening pigmentation or, rarely, blue-grey discolouration with prolonged hydroquinone use
• Rebound pigmentation after treatment stops

• Signs of an allergic reaction: swelling of the face, lips or throat, difficulty breathing, a widespread rash or hives
• Severe burning, blistering, raw or weeping skin
• Possible effects of steroid absorption with prolonged use over large areas or under occlusion, such as a rounder face, unusual weight gain, purple stretch marks, raised blood sugar, or unusual tiredness. Seek medical advice if these occur.
• A spreading skin infection, or a cold sore outbreak that is spreading

Other General Warnings

• You have a history of allergic reactions to topical creams.
• You are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• You think rashes or infections have developed on the skin after using this medicine.
• Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, or nose. If it occurs, wipe or wash it off immediately.
• The treated area is becoming darker rather than lighter, or has developed a patchy blue-grey colour.
• You have been using the cream longer than your dermatologist advised, or you have restarted it repeatedly.
• You notice thinning skin, visible small blood vessels, new spots around the mouth, or increased facial hair.

• Use this medicine as directed by your doctor.
• Apply it to healthy skin. Avoid applying on cuts and wounds.
• Wash your hands before and after using this medicine unless your hands are the area to be treated.
• If this cream comes into contact with your eyes, rinse them with clean water immediately.
• Apply it at night, to the pigmented patches only, on clean dry skin. Use a thin film.
• Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen every morning, and wear a hat or seek shade. Sun protection is part of the treatment.
• Use it for the short, intermittent course your dermatologist set. Do not continue it indefinitely, and do not restart it on your own when the patches return.
• Do not cover the treated area with a dressing or film, and do not use it under a bandage.
• Keep it away from the eyelids, the corners of the nose and the lips, where the skin is thinnest.
• Do not use it with facial scrubs, peels, bleaching products or hair removal creams on the same area, and avoid waxing the treated skin.

• Store Elosone HT cream in the original container in a clean, dry place, protected from moisture, sunlight, and heat.
• Keep the medicine out of reach of children and pets.
• Do not freeze.
• Keep the cap closed, as light and air degrade both tretinoin and hydroquinone. If the cream has turned brown or changed in appearance, do not use it.
• Do not share the tube, and do not keep a part-used tube to restart treatment later without speaking to your dermatologist.

• Elosone HT cream is a prescription treatment for facial melasma. Do not use it for any condition other than the one your doctor diagnosed.
• This medicine is for external use only and should not be swallowed. Do not apply to open wounds or weeping areas.
• Do not use more than the recommended amount of this medicine, or do not use it for longer periods of time than directed.
• Wash your hands before and after using this medicine. If this cream comes into contact with your eyes, rinse them with clean water immediately.
• Before starting Elosone HT cream, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning on becoming pregnant, or breastfeeding. Also, inform your doctor about all other medicines that you are using.
• Avoid excessive sun exposure and use broad-spectrum sunscreen daily.
• Tell your dermatologist about any skin tumour, unexplained skin lesion, or history of unusual skin changes.
• Elosone HT cream has no anti-acne or anti-pimple action and should not be used to treat such skin conditions.
• Expect the patches to return to some extent after you stop. Ask your dermatologist about a maintenance plan rather than restarting the cream yourself.
• If the treated area starts getting darker rather than lighter, stop and see your dermatologist.
