Uses
- Clono Md 0.5 mg Tablet is used in:
- Treatment of epilepsy
- Treatment of akathisia (restlessness)
- Treatment of panic disorders
Contraindications
- If you have an allergy to the active or inactive components of Clono Md 0.5 mg.
- If you have a pre-existing heart condition.
- If you have a history of liver ailments. Clono Md 0.5 mg Tablet is metabolised in the liver.
- If you have acute-angle glaucoma.

- You experience drastic changes in mood or behaviour, have suicidal or self-harmful thoughts.
- You have any pre-existing kidney conditions. This medicine is primarily excreted through urine. Hence, a decrease in the excretion of the medicine can increase its concentration in the body.
- You have any pre-existing respiratory diseases that you may have. Clono Md 0.5 mg Tablets decrease the respiratory rate and can worsen the condition if you have pre-existing respiratory diseases.
- You may feel drowsy or lightheaded after taking this medicine. Hence, you should avoid exercising and exposure to hot weather after taking this medicine.

Directions for Use
- Take Clono Md 0.5 mg Tablet strictly as directed by the doctor.
- Swallow Clono Md 0.5 mg Tab as a whole. Do not break, chew, or crush it.
- Do not exceed the recommended dosage of Clono Md 0.5 mg Tablet.
- For optimal pharmacological effect, take Clono Md 0.5 mg Tab at the same time every day for the prescribed duration.

- Clono Md 0.5 mg Tablets are known to interact with the following medicines:
- Antidepressants (bupropion, fluoxetine) cause drowsiness and impairment in judgement.
- Antiepileptics (phenytoin) as it decreases the efficacy of Clono Md 0.5 mg Tablets.
- Anti-malaria medication (Quinidine) as the combination can cause abnormalities in the heart.
- Barbiturate (phenobarbital or secobarbital) as it causes sedation when used with Clono Md 0.5 mg Tablets.
- Medicines used in the treatment of urine incontinence (darifenacin, fesoterodine, oxybutynin, tolterodine) as they become ineffective in the presence of Clono Md 0.5 mg Tablets.
- Antihistamines (cetirizine) as they cause drowsiness.
- Cough medicine (dextromethorphan) as it increases the chances of drowsiness and dryness of the mouth.
- Antiarrhythmics (propafenone, flecainide) as the combination can increase the chances of palpitations and abnormalities in the heart rhythm.
- Antifungals (ketoconazole) as Clono Md 0.5 mg Tablets decrease the efficacy of the medicine.
- Antacids (cimetidine, omeprazole) as it decreases the absorption of the Clono Md 0.5 mg Tablets.
Interactions with food items
- Clono Md 0.5 mg Tablets should not be taken with grapefruit or grapefruit juice as it reduces the efficacy of the medicines.
- Hot beverages like coffee and tea should be avoided with this medicine. Clono Md 0.5 mg Tablet calms and relaxes the mind, while coffee and tea stimulate the mind. Since both of them have opposite actions, they should not be combined together.
