Medical Description
Cepodem XP 325 tablets are an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections in various parts of the body, including the throat, lungs, ears, urinary tract, and skin. This medication combines cefpodoxime, which inhibits bacterial growth, and clavulanic acid, which enhances the effectiveness of cefpodoxime.
Take Cepodem XP 325 tablets exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Continue taking the full course of medication even if you feel better, as stopping early may lead to treatment failure and the infection returning.
Common side effects of the Cepodem XP 325 tablet are diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting and gas. If you feel the side effects persist or the condition worsens, you should contact your doctor immediately. Before using Cepodem XP 325 tablet, inform the doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding and about your detailed medical history.
Monocef O CV 200 tablets, Swich CV tablets, Doxcef CV 200 tablets and Clavcep CV tablets are some other medicines containing cefpodoxime and clavulanic acid.

Mode of Action
How Does It Work?
- Cefpodoxime controls the growth of bacteria and kills them by inhibiting the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall. However, the bacteria make an enzyme (beta-lactamases) that can destroy Cefpodoxime.
- Clavulanic acid inactivates this enzyme and hence helps Cefpodoxime to function optimally.
