Cardace 5 MG Description
Cardace 5mg tablet contains ramipril which is used to manage high blood pressure and also prevent heart - related risks. This medicine belongs to the "Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor (ACEI)"
class of medicine. It also reduces the risk of heart attack and stroke. It acts by inhibiting the formation of the chemical substance Angiotensin II, which is responsible for constricting the blood vessels. Cardace 5 acts by dilating the blood vessels, thus reducing the blood pressure

Cardace 5mg tablet is used to reduce heart - related risks associated with various conditions such as high blood pressure, kidney disease with or without diabetes, long-term history of congestive heart failure or after a heart attack (myocardial infarction)....
Contraindications of Cardace 5 MG
- If you are allergic to ramipril or any other ingredient of Cardace 5mg tablet
- If you have a history of facial oedema due to this medicine
- If you are on dialysis
- If you are in the 2nd or 3rd trimester of pregnancy
- If you have a low blood pressure
- If you are diabetic or have renal failure and on aliskiren containing medicine
- If you are on sacubitril/valsartan therapy (heart medicine)

Interactions of Cardace 5 MG
Interactions with other medicines
- Concomitant use of Cardace 5mg tablet with sacubitril/valsartan (heart medicine), vildagliptin (blood sugar), sirolimus increases the risk of facial swelling.
- Concurrent use of anti-diabetic medicine including insulin with Cardace 5mg tablet can result in decreased blood glucose levels.
- Cardace 5mg tablet can increase the lithium (anti-anxiety) levels in the blood when used concomitantly, thus resulting in toxicity.
- Allopurinol, immunosuppressants, corticosteroids, procainamide along with this medicine can result in blood disorders.
- Isoproterenol, dobutamine, dopamine, epinephrine decreases the anti-hypertensive action of Cardace 5mg tablet.
- Heparin (blood thinner), ciclosporin (immunosuppressant), spironolactone, triamterene or amiloride (diuretics) along with Cardace 5mg tablet can result in increased blood potassium levels.
- Discuss with your doctor about any other medicine, herbal preparation and supplements you are taking currently to avoid any possible interactions.
Interactions with food items
Avoid food rich in potassium such as broccoli and coconut water.

- Store Cardace 5mg tablet at or below 30°C.
- Keep it away from light, high temperature and moisture.
