• Osteoporosis (weak or brittle bones) in women who have gone through menopause.
• Breast cancer that has spread to the bone (metastasis)
• Lower high levels of calcium (tumor-induced Hypercalcemia) in the blood caused by certain types of tumors with or without metastasis.

• Low calcium levels in the blood (hypocalcaemia).
• Known history of a severe allergic (hypersensitivity) reaction to ibandronic acid or any of its ingredients.

• Back pain
• Indigestion (dyspepsia)
• Nausea
• Diarrhoea
• Constipation
• Abdominal pain
• Joint pain
• Pain in the arms or legs
• Headache
• Flu-like symptoms
• Muscle cramps

• Chest pain
• Muscle spasms, twitches, or cramps, or numbness/tingling around the mouth, fingers, or toes (low blood calcium)
• Severe or worsening bone, joint, or muscle pain
• Jaw pain, swelling, numbness, or a feeling of heaviness, especially around the time of dental work (possible jaw bone problem)
• New or unusual pain in the hip, groin, or thigh (possible unusual thigh bone fracture)
• Signs of an allergic reaction like hives, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat

Other General Warnings

• You have low blood calcium, or a condition affecting your ability to absorb minerals.
• You plan to have dental surgery or teeth removed.
• You have poor dental health, such as bleeding gums.
• You have swallowing or digestive problems, such as ulcers or heartburn.
• You have kidney problems; Bonimet injection is not recommended if your kidney function is severely reduced.
• You develop new hip, groin, or thigh pain during treatment.

• Bonimet injection is administered by a doctor or trained nurse as an injection in a hospital or clinic setting.
• Patients should never attempt to change, delay, skip, or repeat a dose on their own.

• Bonimet injection is stored according to the specific product labelling and handled by healthcare professionals.
• Keep the medicine out of the reach of children and pets.

• While being treated, you should maintain good oral hygiene (including regular teeth brushing) and receive routine dental check-ups.
• If you wear dentures, you should make sure these fit properly.
• If you are undergoing dental treatment or will undergo dental surgery (e.g. tooth extractions), inform your doctor about your dental treatment and tell your dentist that you are being treated with Ibandronic acid.
• Contact your doctor and dentist immediately if you experience any problems with your mouth or teeth such as loose teeth, pain or swelling, non-healing sores or discharge, as these could be signs of osteonecrosis of the jaw.
• Take calcium and vitamin D supplements as and when recommended by your doctor.

Overdose

• No specific antidote is available for Bonimet injection overdose.
• Overdose is unlikely because it is administered by a doctor or nurse in a hospital setting.
• If an overdose occurs, supportive treatment and appropriate monitoring should be provided by healthcare professionals.

Missed a Dose

• Contact your doctor if you miss a dose.
• Do not attempt to make up a missed dose without medical advice.

Interactions with other medicines

• Calcium, antacids, and other products containing minerals such as aluminium, magnesium, or iron can interfere with the absorption of Bonimet injection.
• Aminoglycoside medicines, used to treat severe infections, should not be taken with Bonimet injection because both drugs can lower blood calcium levels.
• non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (also known as NSAIDs); these may cause irritation to the stomach when given with Bonimet injection tablets
• Always tell your doctor about every prescription medicine, over-the-counter medicine, vitamin, and herbal or dietary supplement you are taking to plan your treatment safely.
