Benzonac gel is used to provide temporary relief from pain, redness and swelling caused by mouth ulcers. Mouth ulcers are painful sores that can affect the inner lips, gums, tongue, roof of the mouth or throat and make eating, drinking and speaking uncomfortable. It contains a combination of benzocaine, a local numbing medicine, and diclofenac, an anti-inflammatory medicine. The local numbing ingredient reduces pain sensation at the sore, while diclofenac reduces chemical signals that contribute to inflammation and pain. Benzonac gel is applied directly inside the mouth to the affected ulcer as advised, with the treated area left undisturbed while the local effect lasts.
