• Certain subtypes of Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) in adults: These include refractory anaemia (RA), refractory anaemia with ringed sideroblasts (RARS) in certain patients, refractory anaemia with excess blasts (RAEB), refractory anaemia with excess blasts in transformation (RAEB-T), and chronic myelomonocytic leukaemia (CMMoL).
• Juvenile myelomonocytic leukaemia (JMML) in children: It is used to treat newly diagnosed JMML in children aged 1 month and older. JMML is a rare blood cancer that mainly affects young children.

• If you have advanced malignant liver (hepatic) tumours, as this medicine can worsen liver damage
• If you are allergic to azacitidine or mannitol (an ingredient in the formulation), as a severe allergic reaction may occur

• Nausea and vomiting
• Low red blood cell count (anaemia), causing tiredness and breathlessness
• Low platelet count (thrombocytopenia), which may increase the risk of bruising or bleeding
• A low white blood cell count, which may increase the risk of infections
• Fever
• Diarrhoea and constipation
• Redness, bruising, or pain at the injection site

• Headache and dizziness
• Loss of appetite
• Shortness of breath
• Skin rash and redness
• Joint and muscle pain
• Low blood potassium levels

• Severe liver problems, particularly in patients with severe pre-existing liver impairment
• Kidney toxicity.
• Tumor lysis syndrome (dangerous release of substances when cancer cells break down)
• Severe infections, including pneumonia, sepsis, or fungal infections
• Serious skin infections (necrotising fasciitis)
• Lung inflammation (interstitial lung disease)

Other General Warnings

• You have liver disease or severe pre-existing hepatic impairment.
• You have kidney disease or impaired kidney function.
• You develop fever or other signs of infection.
• You experience unusual bruising or bleeding.
• You develop reduced urination or other symptoms that may indicate kidney problems.
• You are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or could become pregnant.
• You are receiving other medicines that may affect blood counts or kidney function.
• You are due to receive a vaccine or have questions about vaccination during treatment.

• Azacytin injection is administered by a healthcare professional as a subcutaneous injection or intravenous infusion.
• Do not self-inject this medicine. Follow the treatment schedule and aftercare instructions provided by your doctor or healthcare team.

• Store un reconstituted vials at 25°C (77°F); excursions are permitted between 15°C and 30°C (59°F and 86°F).
• Do not freeze.
• Azacytin injection is a hazardous drug. Preparation, handling, and disposal should be carried out according to applicable special handling and disposal procedures by trained healthcare professionals.

• Keep all scheduled blood-test appointments so your doctor can monitor your blood cell counts and kidney and liver function.
• Report fever, chills, persistent cough, unusual bruising, or bleeding to your healthcare team promptly.
• Inform your doctor about any liver or kidney disease before treatment.
• Inform your healthcare team about all medicines, vitamins, supplements, and herbal products you take.
• Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or could become pregnant.
• Tell your doctor if you or your partner could become pregnant, as effective contraception is recommended during treatment.
• Seek medical attention promptly if you develop symptoms such as reduced urination, severe weakness, swelling, or other unusual symptoms.
