Atorlip 10mg Tab is a hypolipidemic medicine that belongs to the statin group. Atorlip 10mg Tab contains atorvastatin as the primary ingredient in its composition, the uses of which include the treatment of conditions with high cholesterol.

How Does It Work?
The enzyme HMG-CoA synthase helps produce cholesterol. Atorvastatin inhibits HMG-CoA, thereby decreasing the bad cholesterol in the body.

Interactions with other medicines
- It is advised to wait for around a week before taking atorvastatin if the person has taken any form of fusidic acid, as it might result in heightened side effects.

- Erythromycin in the body can result in side effects with any statin group of medicines.
- Hepatitis C medications, such as glecaprevir and pibrentasvir, should be avoided with Atorlip 10mg Tab.

It is advised to limit the consumption of grapefruit juice, as it results in an increased concentration of atorvastatin in the body.

Individuals suffering from rhabdomyolysis are advised to consult a doctor before taking atorvastatin. Rhabdomyolysis is a condition of muscle breakdown accompanied with pain, fever and soreness. Kidney failure may be an end result in such scenarios.
